Dear Pandemic Bosses

We have been working from home since March. At the time, we copy-and-pasted our work schedules from the office to home. We held our regular calls, continued our projects, and scheduled the boss in as “normal ways” as possible. Everyone reached a wall of Zoom fatigue as the months went on; the boss asked to be less scheduled on account of this fatigue. Us staffers do not get that same luxury.

The walk in the hallway between meetings was a helpful reset. The quorum around Joe’s cube to chat about sports or politics was needed. And the boss’s open-door policy was access not yet replicated…
